Biology ICT Integrated Lesson Plan 4 on Human Circulatory System

Class: VII

Subject: General Science                                                                   

Topic: Heart Function

Time: 50 minutes

Student Learning Outcomes

At the end of this session students will be able to describe the function of Heart.

Required Material

Board, marker, duster, PowerPoint slides, computers, internet device

Introductory Activity (10 minutes)

The teacher will formally greet students. Teacher will set ground rules with the help of power point slides. Teacher will show students a GIF in which a Heart is beating. Teacher will show this GIF and ask students to observe it carefully. Teacher will ask students some questions like what is this? What is happening in that gif? Which two colors they see in the gif? What is the function of heart? etc. Teacher will get responses from students and she may ask further probing questions based on students’ responses, if needed.

Activity I (15 minutes)

Teacher will connect students' responses with the topic and tell students that today they will learn about how heart functions. Teacher will explain the heart function with the help of power point slides in which they will also observe each step of cardiac cycle.

Activity II (15 minutes)

Teacher will show students a video in which it will be clearly shown that how heart functions. Students will be given opportunity to share their thoughts and ideas related to video. Teacher will make corrections if needed in students’ ideas.

Assessment Activity (8 minutes)

 Students will be assessed through an online test.

Conclusion (2 minutes)
