Biology ICT Integrated Lesson Plan 1 on Human Circulatory System

Time: 60 minutes

Student Learning Outcomes

At the end of this session students will be able to:

• Describe the circulatory system.
• Explain the functions of circulatory system.

Required Material

·        Board, marker, duster, PowerPoint slides, computers or laptops, internet device.

Introductory Activity (10 minutes)

The teacher will formally greet students. Teacher will set ground rules with the help of power point slides. Then,  teacher will show students a GIF of heart and ask them to observe it for 30 seconds and then think about it for 1 minute. Then, students will be asked to share their responses regarding the picture. Teacher will further ask probing questions in response to students' ideas. Like, when a student will say that it is heart and it is beating, then, teacher will ask him/her that why it beats? Or what function do the heart perform in the body? Etc.

Activity I (15 minutes)

Students will be shown a video about the introduction of circulatory system. Then, they will be asked to write the key points of the video. Then, teacher will ask them to share their key points with the teacher and other students. After that, teacher will further elaborate it. Students will also be allowed and given time to ask questions about the things that they did not understand in the video.

Activity II (15 minutes)

Students will be shown a slide related to functions of human circulatory system. They will read the points given in slide. Teacher will ask them about their understanding related to the slide. Then, teacher will get responses from students. After that, she will further explain it.

Assessment Activity (17 minutes)

Students will be given 2 questions that will be written on PowerPoint slide. Students will be asked to write brief answers to those questions in 5 minutes. Then, they will be asked to share their answers.

Conclusion (3 minutes)

Teacher will conclude the session by presenting the key points of the lesson through PowerPoint slides.
