 Delectations of Reading

Just as our body needs food, so does our mind. Without food we would be starved. Likewise, the mind would also be emaciated if it received no nutrition. The mind gets nourishment from reading. If we talk about the delectations of reading, then, the pleasures of reaading are endless.

Reading good books helps us to pass our time pleasantly. When we are ill, when we are on a journey, when we feel dull or when we are sad, a good book can give us comfort and drive the sorrows away. There are books which give us information about history, geography, various sciences and so on. In addition to that, there are books about travelling. As we read them, we feel as if we are really travelling over those places. Some books, such as, novels, poetry books etc. let us escape from the problems of real world. They take us to the novel world of imagination and fantasy. Furthermore, books also enhance our comprehension, critical thinking skills, reflective practices and analysis skills. They provide us the lens to see one thing with different perspectives.

In a nutshell, we can say that reading is, indeed, a great source of delectation. It is a flow of knowledge and information which polishes our thinking capibility.
